Our Story

We will be the trusted partner for the organisations operating in the sector who need IT solutions to support, drive and empower their activities.

Housing Partners has been providing systems solutions for social housing providers for nearly 20 years.  We are totally dedicated to social housing – focusing on homelessness, tenancy management, mutual exchange and income management.

Our mutual exchange service is one of the most well-known systems – HomeSwapper – and is, by far, the most widely used service across social housing providers.  More recently, in 2018, we launched Housing Jigsaw to support homelessness and the introduction of the HRA in England.  The service has been extended to support homelessness in Wales too and has a Welsh language option included.  Housing Jigsaw was an instant success with Local Authorities and our partnership with NPSS is unique to the sector.

More recently, we have launched a range of tenancy and income management services under the TAIM (‘Tenancy and Income Management’) brand.  These include a pre-tenancy checking service (‘SafeStart’), in-tenancy service (‘InSight’) and a post tenancy income-recovery service (‘PayBack’). Most recent to join this comprehensive range of products is AIMLogic – a wholly new and highly cost-effective process management service for social housing stock-holders to prioritise tenant workflows and prioritise issues, making best use of time for the housing provider’s staff.

Housing Partners is proud to work with over 500 housing associations and local authorities across the UK.  And from Summer 2019, we have started to work with a number of social housing organisations in Eire too!

Meet our leadership team

Ralph is a Scot who started business life in stockbroking, which he left to lead a software start-up – Housing Partners! – following his desire to blend social and commercial strategies to make a difference in people’s lives.  He has been involved in various charities in developing countries, using enterprises as a catalyst in to create jobs, empower the poor and transform local communities.  Back in the UK he sits on a couple of charity boards, one works with families in areas of significant deprivation.

As one of the founders of Housing Partners I’m determined that our modern business focusses on delivering value to our customers. That means doing the job right in the first place and then looking after those relationships once formed.  Best value for customers means software that does exactly what they want, so at Housing Partners we have created collaborative, formal, relationships with practitioners so that they can tell us what is most important and in what order to build features. The result is best of breed software solutions that our Product Engineers are rightly proud of and encouraged to be precious about.

I have been with Housing Partners for over 5 years, I was inspired to join Housing Partners as it is an organisation where I can use my skills and experience to engage, develop and support excellent people, whilst at the same time balancing the needs of a commercial organisation in a market where it is socially imperative to deliver customer value.

Meet our team

I enjoy working at Housing Partners because I get to work on software that has the potential to change lives, and that is very rewarding. My role is exciting as I get involved with all aspects of the development lifecycle and use the latest technologies, so there are always new things to learn.

I took on my role at Housing Partners 5 years ago as I believe the work we do here makes a difference to peoples lives, to think that releasing a quality product to market could help someone threatened with homelessness before its to late or that they find the right place for their family to live is heart-warming. As QA manager my teams responsibility is to ensure any of the software changes we make are the best they can be for exactly these reasons.

I’ve been part of the team at Housing Partners since April 2012, and as such, been very fortunate to work with some very talented individuals who share such a strong passion for our products and those who benefit from them. As the IT Manager at Housing Partners, I’m lucky enough to be able to work with some of the latest and leading technologies in the industry, all of which contribute to the ongoing development and success of our product portfolio.

In my role at Housing Partners I get to see all different aspects of social housing and homelessness. This is enlightening and being able to be a part of something which makes a very real difference in these people’s lives is very rewarding and satisfying.

I have over 5 years’ experience working within the social housing sector and joined Housing Partners back in October 2018. From both a personal and professional perspective, I was delighted to join the team as I feel the ethos and ethics of Housing Partners match my own. I’m passionate about helping people and I truly believe in the solutions that we provide to tackle real-life issues and support those most vulnerable within our society. I believe that working together we can do the right thing.

In my role at Housing Partners I work closely with industry practitioners and internal HPL stakeholders to co-ordinate collaboration in a way that produces best in class software solutions. The approach Housing Partners allows me to take as a Product Owner is very rewarding because it ensures I can keep the customer at the centre of everything I do.

It is my pleasure to work with Housing Partners as a BI Developer since 2018, they are a progressive and dynamic company. I’m working with a great group of people, whilst there are challenges and  learning opportunities the culture is great and the Management team supportive. Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work.

My decision to join Housing Partners in 2018 was one I am truly glad to have made. I love everything about my role, including my colleagues, customers and the office atmosphere. Housing Partners is a great company to work for, and one that I am proud to work for.
